Dilated Eye Examination

To your eyes, drops will be placed them. These drops take about 10 or 15 minutes to fully dilate (widen) the pupils. After your pupils are dilated we will take digital retinal photographs and use special magnifying lens to examine your retina to look for signs of damage and other eye problems, such as diabetic retinopathy or age-related macular degeneration. After the examination, your close-up vision may remain blurred for several hours and you will be sensitive to bright light. We will provide some sunglasses for you. We do recommend regular dilated retinal evaluations to insure you have the healthiest eyes. But, we do understand it may not be convenient to have your eyes dilated at your visit. Don't worry, we will allow you to reschedule this at a seperate visit if needed at no additional charge
