Diabetic Eye Disease
-
Diabetes is the leading cause of new cases of blindness in adults 20-74 years old. The most common form of diabetic eye disease is diabetic retinopathy, a disorder caused by changes in the blood vessels of the retina. Each year, an average of 35,000 people lose their sight because of the disease. Sadly, many of the cases of vision loss could have been preventing if detected earlier.
